Motorradfahren in den Dolomiten

Roundtrip suggestion:

If you wish to enjoy a day of natural beauty in the Dolomites, the tour suggested above is an excellent choice. North of this track, there is the Gardena valley, while to the south the track borders on the Cavalese winter sports area.
Starting in Tiers/St.Zyprian, you will drive up to Nigerpass and Karerpass through an untouched forest stretching along the Rosengarten and the Rotwand walls. Shortly before you reach Karerpass, turn left towards Welschnofen. It is worth stopping shortly at lake Karersee to admire the Latemar mountain. You will continue through Welschnofen to Birchabruck, where you must turn left towards Lavaze-Joch. From there (1808 m), the track descends to Cavalese. Just after the village, follow road S48 leading to Auer. After a number of curves, take care not to miss the crossing in order to head towards Aldein and Deutschnofen. From Deutschnofen you will get back to Birchabruck. Through the Eggental valley with its many tunnels you will reach Kardaun, heading from there towards Blumau. Continue to Völs-Seis-Kastelruth. You will enjoy a beautiful panoramic scenery, with the Schlern mountain range to your right.
From Kastelruth, there are two alternatives for continuing your tour. You may either pass through Val Gardena to Passo Sella, descending from there to Val di Fassa. After Vigo di Fassa, turn right and ascend to Karerpass, from where you will return to Tiers/St. Zyprian. -- The shorter alternative would be to walk down from Kastelruth to Birchabruck, then following the road leading to Bolzano until Blumau, from where you will return to Tiers/St.Zyprian.
250 km - day tour: Tiers-Canazei-Pordoijoch-Arabba-Falzarego Pass-Cortina-Three Peaks-Toblach-Bruneck-Brixen This tour touches on the major highlights of the Dolomites and gives a comprehensive impression of this world of peaks and pinnacles. We start in Tiers in the direction of the Niger Pass and Karer Pass and arrive in Vigo di Fassa, a once poor mountain village that has now become prosperous thanks to winter and summer tourism. We then continue to Canazei, from where you can reach the Pordoi Pass. Before that, you can make a detour up to the Fedaia Pass. There you have a fantastic view of the Marmolada glacier (3,342 m). 27 crisp hairpin bends lead from Canazei to the Pordoi Pass, the highest pass in the Dolomites at 2,239 metres. The panoramic view from there is unique. The subsequent descent to Arabba is not without its challenges either. The route leads over the Falzarego Pass to Cortina d'Ampezzo. Quite crowded in winter, it tends to be quieter here in summer. The valley is surrounded by the mighty 3000 metre peaks of the Toffanen, the Cristallo, the Sorapis and the Civetta. The route continues over the Passo Tre Croci, past Lake Misurina to the Three Peaks. A steep panoramic road (toll road) leads to the car park of the Auronzo hut, from where you have to walk to reach the Paternsattel in about an hour, from where you can see the peaks best. The main Dolomites road runs northwards through the Höhlenstein valley and meets the Pustertal valley in Toblach. From Bruneck, take the SS49 to Brixen, where you can join the motorway (subject to a charge) and exit again in Klausen or Bozen Nord. Continue to Blumau and from there back to Tiers. From Bressanone/Brixen, however, the country road to Waidbruck is more beautiful, from where you can get to Castelrotto/Kastelruth, Siusi/Seis, Fiè allo Sciliar/Völs am Schlern and return to Tires/Tiers via Prösels Castle.
260 km - day tour:
Tiers-Bolzano-Eppan-Mendelpass-Gampenjoch-Lana-Meran-St. Leonhard-Jaufenpass-Sterzing-Penser Joch-Ritten-Bolzano We first drive from Tiers to Bolzano, for the sake of convenience you can join the motorway in Bolzano North and leave it again in Bolzano South, because from there you can drive directly onto the Mebo motorway to Appiano. Just under a kilometre later, however, it is already time to take the turn-off to Appiano. Before you get there, you will reach the Mendel Pass, which is probably one of the most underrated passes in the Alps. Almost nothing has been changed in the upper section in the last 30-40 years, i.e. nothing has been improved in terms of safety. The following descent is relatively flat and leads down to Fondo. Here we turn into the Gampen road, which leads us to the Gampenjoch. At an altitude of 1,518 metres, the road crosses the Gampenjoch and then winds down into the Etschtal valley and on to Merano in a myriad of hairpin bends. A break or a walk in the spa town is highly recommended. You should take in the flair of this town if it is already on the way.
The tour then continues into the Passeier Valley. he route takes you past Dorf Tirol and into the valley to St. Leonhard. This is where the Timmelsjoch and Jaufen roads meet. We take the Jaufenstraße, which winds its way up to the Jaufenpass (2,094 metres) through many hairpin bends and increasingly narrow and bumpy roads. Towards the end there are great views of the Ötztal and Stubai Alps.
The 12-kilometre descent to Kalch is similar to the ascent, and you soon reach Sterzing, from where you turn right towards the Penser Joch.
This lies at 2,211 metres in a total lunar landscape. Nothing but bare rock.
The route continues down into the Sarntal valley. 6 km after Sarnthein, the main town in the valley, turn left towards Wangen, the road over the Ritten, Bolzano's local mountain. The bends along these 25 kilometres are just as spectacular as the views. In Rentsch, the Rittnerstraße rejoins Bolzano, you turn left heading north, past the motorway exit Bozen Nord to Blumau, from where you reach Tiers again.
